  • Long time, no see!

It's been a long time since I posted anything on my xanga. Life has been super super busy... I graduated with my BSW in May, moved back to my hometown, and found a full time job. To say the least, I haven't had the time to craft anything. I did purchased a new Brother sewing machine and crafted a pair of pillows for my thift store couch two weeks ago but that's about it....I thought I'll have more time to craft since there's no more papers to write and exams to study for. WRONG! Life after college is busier than even. I'd been itching to make a new bag but I'll have to wait until I have time to finish it in one day...

  • Tote for Thoughts

I made these tote a few weeks ago.  The first one I made as a diaper bag alternative since I'm so tired of toting around a large diaper bag.  This one here is much more smaller and a lot more easier to bring along with a 2 year old.  LOL...sometimes the lilo guy even carry it himself!

The front! my lilo guy loves trees and lol was he excited when he saw this.

Here is the inside....nothing fancy, just an extra pocket.  It would've been nice to have more pockets but a 2year doesn't need that much--> just diapers and wipes.

Action shot! See...told ya he loves it.

This second bag....I made a few days ago for a a very dear mentor.  She's been so helpful and informative through out my internship...much deserving of a by-by gift.  I gave it to her this last Thursday and she really likes it and that's all that matters.

The front w/a Hmong embroidery cloth.  I really like how the side pleats turned out.

Inside: again, nothing fancy, just one single pocket.

    Another front view....

Action shot! I like it because it isn't too big nor is it so small that you won't be able to fit anything in it.

  • M.I.A

Going M.I.A. for the rest of the school year.

12 credits courses + 13 hr/wk intership + graduate school apps + 2 p/t jobs + family life = absolutely no time to be crafty.

Happy crafting to the rest of you all!

  • Victorian England/Emily Dickinson Wristlet

I made this wristlet for a tin theme swap just recently.  We were suppose to fill the tin with items that relate to the theme of the tin but I couldn't find any ideas for what to fill it with therefore I made this wristlet.

The zipper puller/wristlet-handle was originally a decorative component of a pair of pants and the ivory and blue lace came from the thrift store. The graphic of Emily Dickerson and of the victoria england Queen were printed onto the fabric by using by a tuition I got off of www.instructables.com. I can't remember the specific url but if you really want it I'll try to find it.  Anyways, I also added beads in different shades of blue to the back of the bag.

  • S5003593 Ah...got bored tonight so I decided to make a wallet fashioned after a similar and a tinier hello kitty store-brought one that on longer function.

I didn't want to make the whole thing just out of duct tape and I sure wasn't going to pull my machine out of the closet tonight lol...forgive me for being too lazy  Roll Eyes so I combined the two items...no hehhehehe! not ducktape and the sewing machine! ducktape and scrap fabric that I received from a swap lol...they prove to be handy. This is the result of my advantageous boredomness tonight. <--- Front: open flap with clear vinyl window.....

.....closed flap with more stuff in there e.g. monies  Grin
The inside [not pictured] is lined with ducktape in order to add some reinforcer to the fabric.
